The club ethos involves encouraging the sport of rowing, good craic and beagáinín Gaeilge (a little of the Irish language). There are over 100 members that make use of the many currachs that the club uses. We have an almost complete collection of the various types that were in use around the west coast of Ireland, from traditional working boats to the latest greatest racers! Anyone can learn how to row, and should you be interested you are most welcome to join us any Saturday morning at 10:30am, next to Shandon Rowing club on the Marina.
We have a diverse range of members both Irish and international. We also encourage family membership, and many of our summer trips are family events.
Club members row at the club at different times during the week, and also organise club trips to places like Kilmacsimon, Baltimore, currach regattas along the west coast from Kerry to Mayo, and adventures even further afield - to the London Great River Race, Galicia, Venice's Vogalonga etc - the sky is the limit!
So what are you waiting for? Siúil leat agus beidh fáilte romhat!
